Launch of the funding for local CSOs organizational capacity strengthening

On September 24, 2024, the 6th Multi-stakeholder Round Table of the "STRIVE for a better future: communities and civil society resilience in Armenia" project took place in Dilijan.
Representatives of Dilijan municipality, local non-governmental organizations, forcibly displaced Artsakhians living in Dilijan participated in the discussion.
Artur Ghazaryan, the president of the “YCCD” NGO, a partner organisation of the "STRIVE" project, and Arpine Baghdoyan, the director of Near East Foundation Armenia and the programme director of the "STRIVE" project welcomed the participants and introduced the purpose of the discussion, as well as the expected results. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss and define a joint project that will promote cooperation between CSOs and other sectors and will be aimed at solving the vital needs of people displaced from Nagorno Karabakh. Aram Harutyunyan, Specialist for Innovation, Scale, and Impact of the “STRIVE” project, led the working process of the meeting.
The participants discussed the problems and needs that arose during working in emergency situations, which were related to the officials of different fields and the displaced persons. Different viewpoints and opinions were voiced in the direction of solving the encountered problems and responding to the needs, which are especially seen in the field of employment. The representatives of the local government also referred to the works being carried out in that direction and the cooperation with the interested parties. During the group work, the participants highlighted the main issues and formulated the possible ways to overcome them.
In total, 3 program proposals were presented. A proposal that provides long-term sustainability and impact in addressing the needs of displaced persons will receive financial support.
It should be noted that similar Round Tables were held in Syunik, Aragatsotn, Lori, Gegharkunik and Shirak previously this year in the frames of the “STRIVE” project.
“STRIVE” project is co-funded by the European Union and implemented by NEF-Belgium (NEF) and four local partners: “Agate” Rights Defense Center for Women with Disabilities NGO, “Blejan” Ecological, Social, Business Support NGO, ''WINNET Goris'' Development Foundation and “YCCD” Youth Cooperation Center of Dilijan NGO.
