“Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities” People with Disabilities Non-Governmental Organization’s mission is to ensure the complete realization of the rights of individuals with disabilities in the Lori region and actively engage them in all aspects of public life.

In 2023, within the framework of the "Emergency Response" (Emergency) component of the STRIVE project “Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities” People with Disabilities NGO implemented “Development of the capacities of persons with disabilities forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh and their family members and promotion of their employment” project. During the implementation of the project, significant progress was achieved through targeted training programmes. Two-month makeup and cooking courses, initiated on February 1, were successfully completed, with participants demonstrating newfound skills and receiving certificates during a closing ceremony. Two makeup course graduates passed exams, received professional tools, and secured opportunities to work at local salons and from home. Similarly, three cooking course participants excelled in their assessments, obtained essential equipment, and showcased their skills by preparing Artsakh dishes at the Programme’s conclusion. These efforts enabled participants to engage in income-generating activities, promoting their independence and integration into the local community. Beyond training, the project addressed individual needs, including providing tools for plastering and woodworking to one beneficiary, fostering enthusiasm for immediate employment.
