5th Multi-stakeholder Round Table

5th Multi-stakeholder Round Table

Today, it is important to reveal the real problems of our compatriots displaced from Artsakh and offer joint solutions.

"STRIVE for a better future: communities and civil society resilience in Armenia" (STRIVE) program, “Agate” Rights Defense Center for Women with Disabilities NGO hosted 5th Multi-stakeholder Round Table for the purpose of planning and implementing a joint action.

Civil society organizations operating in Shirak Marz, representatives of unified social services and people forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh participated in the discussion. The purpose of the round table was to discuss and identify a jointly implemented program or action aimed at solving the needs of forcibly displaced people from Nagorno Karabakh.

Most of the participants have been or are currently engaged in activities aimed at solving the problems of the people of Artsakh. During the general presentations, the participants learned about each other's opportunities and problems, which was the basis for the on-the-spot settlement of several current problems. Opportunities were also offered for some jobs in which the participating Artsakh citizens were interested.

The priority issue was again considered employment and then housing. The participants mentioned that many offered jobs are not accepted by the people of Artsakh due to low salary rates.

During the group work, the participants focused on several ideas, among which were the creation of a common platform for the skills/specializations of forcibly displaced persons, the implementation of a joint business initiative, etc. As a result, participants will transform these ideas into project proposals that provide long-term sustainability and impact in addressing the needs of displaced persons and will be submitted for financial support by “STRIVE”.

“STRIVE” project is co-funded by the European Union and implemented by NEF-Belgium (NEF) and four local partners: “Agate” Rights Defense Center for Women with Disabilities NGO, “Blejan” Ecological, Social, Business Support NGO, ''WINNET Goris'' Development Foundation and “YCCD” Youth Cooperation Center of Dilijan NGO.
