“Improve Our Village” Non-Governmental Organization aims to support the processes of establishing a civil society and a democratic state that contributes to human development in Armenia through the activation of rural communities.
In 2023, within the framework of the "Emergency Response" (Emergency) component of the STRIVE program, the “Improve Our Village” NGO implemented the "Healing Workshop" project in Kotayk Marz, successfully supporting young women and girls from 10 families who were forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh. Through the project, beneficiaries acquired new professional skills in sewing, providing them with an opportunity to generate additional income for their families. The project consisted of both theoretical and practical training, culminating in a final certification inspection in April 2024. Participants showcased their new skills to an audience of donor representatives, volunteers, and NGO staff. Additionally, sewing machines and sewing kits were distributed to participants, ensuring they had the necessary tools to continue their work and support their livelihoods.
